Fight!

Hummingbirds are interesting creatures in many different ways. But it never ceases to amaze me that they spend so much energy trying to hog a feeder.



We have multiple feeders for them but, no, they all want the same one and carry on these very quick hummingbird dogfights. When they come by your head at close range they sound just like WW-II fighter planes in miniature. Of, course, they aren't armed with firearms and don't come even close to killing each other. But it is an example of life at it's most fundamental level with each bird fighting for the energy source. And, it's evolution at work before your very eyes.
