Much Needed Rain
We are getting some much needed rain here on the mountain after a week-long dry spell. Ray's Weather predicted thunder showers today and that's what we are getting. My cistern system is already completely filled for the next dry period.

Now, I like nothing more than sitting on the porch during a rain shower, smelling it and listening to the raindrops hitting the leaves. It is very relaxing to me. Murphy, on the other hand, has a different opinion.
At the first sight of lightening or sound of thunder, Murph is gone, seeking shelter, typically under my desk in the loft. That, or snuggling as close as is possible wherever I am. (At the moment he is laying on my feet under the desk.) He doesn't like 'em. Sam, on the other hand, could care less. Dogs are strange like that. Almost certainly they are responding to the emotion of fear and have elected the flight option of the fight or flight reflex. But, still, it makes you wonder what they are thinking.
