Medicare Inequality
The top 1% pay half of all income taxes in the US. The separate Medicare tax is based on the same taxable income, Accordingly, the top 1% pay for half of
The bottom 60% less than 2% of federal income taxes and, therefore, only 2% all Medicare healthcare costs.
Come age 65, does the top 1% receive 50% of all Medicare benefits? Does the bottom 60% receive only 2% of all Medicare benefits? No. Those in the top 1% and those in the bottom 60% are eligible for EXACTLY the same Medicare benefits, yet those in the top 1% pay 25 times more them.
Is that not a gross inequality that favors the bottom 60%?
Some may say it's the 1% paying its fair share.
I say it's socialism at it ugliest.
