Kudos for Nick Saban
Alabama freshman defensive back Tony Mitchell has been suspended by the team and “all team activities,” coach Nick Saban said Monday after the first practice of the spring. Why? Last Thursday Mitchell evaded police at 141 mph before later being stopped, and that more than $7,000 in cash and 226 grams of marijuana were recovered from his vehicle.
Said Saban about Mitchell's actions:
“There’s
no such thing as the wrong place at the wrong time. You’ve got to be
responsible for who you’re with, who you’re around and what you do; who
you associate yourself and the situations that you put yourself in. It
is what it is, but there is cause and effect when you make choices and
decisions that put you in bad situations.”
Good to know that at least one college coach has got it right about the behavior of college athletes..
