Two USB wireless Ethernet adapters. Only slightly used, but much cursed.
After nearly a week of reading books and poking computer keys, the two computers still ain't talking. Oh, the adapters recognize each other alright. But the computers? Total strangers.
The high point of the "experience" was when one computer "saw" the other on the network but would not "talk" to it. But, never the reverse. Then I completely lost my presence of mind and rebooted both computers. Now the one doesn't even see the other. In fact, the computers can no longer even find themselves. Maybe they really don't exist?
I briefly considered going in seach of a book entitled something like "Wireless Networking for Idiots" (as opposed to the copy of "Wireless Networking for Dummies" I already own) but quickly abandoned that idea. Failing at the Dummy level, you see, is one thing, but not making it as a wireless Idiot would just be entirely too much to bear.
