Settlement Deal

The CFO and I had dinner last evening with Thriller and Breeze at a Mexican restaurant here in Cary. It was the first time I had seen The Betrothed since Thriller's birthday in July. Anyhow, over a round or five of $1 margarita specials, Breeze and I settled on the bride price of a dead goat and a used beer keg.

We'll make a Mexican barbecue known as cabrito with the goat on the Pete Jones Memorial whole-hog pit and I can always put a stainless steel beer keg to good use.

Seemed like a fair deal to me but I think Thriller was a little disappointed that I didn't go for more. I suppose I could have also asked for a Mercedes-Benz G500 SUV to replace my old Jeep Cherokee but times are tough all over.

So, Thriller, a dead goat and a used beer keg it is. A deal is a deal.

Nice bling, by the way.

PS: The restaurant was La Cocina at 1000 Lake Pine Drive (near the intersection with US-64) in the building briefly occupied by Bennigan's before the parent company went belly up. La Cocina (The Kitchen in English) has a section in the menu with items tailored just for folks from south of the border. It's all in Spanish but do make the effort to order from that menu. I had Tacos a la Diablo - Tacos to the Devil. Wonderful stuff.
