So Who Pay for Whose Healthcare?

We have established the "obvious" that either you, your employer, some charitable organization or the taxpayers by way of government welfare programs will pay for every penny of  healthcare. Indeed, money to pay for the costs of healthcare does not grow on trees.

The question is who pays for whose healthcare?

It should be first said that insurance company DO NOT PAY pay for healthcare of ANYONE, not a single person. They simply receive the bills for healthcare of those in their healthcare pools using the premiums paid for the benefit of those in the pools by the individuals in the pool, by their employers and/or by government welfare programs, most specifically Obamacare. Further, what portions of the bills they pay are determined by the insurance plan for each of the pools. Thus the differences in the amount of premiums are paid, what specific aspects of healthcare are covered, and what the copay amounts are for the insured. All this is predetermined BEFORE each individual is insured.

And let's understand that the largest insurer is none other than Medicare, an mandatory insurance program run by the US government using the "premiums" paid by the insured and their employers as mandatory FICA payments.

So, for the insured, healthcare is paid for by some combination of the insured themselves, the insured's employer and/or the government. The insured pays (a) premiums or portions of premium not paid by their employer or by government subsidies under Obamacare and (b) cost of medical care NOT paid from in claims to their insurers for benefits, be the insurers private insurance companies or Medicare welfare program.

For the uninsured, healthcare is paid for by the uninsured themselves or by pro bono charity of hospitals and healthcare professionals and by government charity, most notably Medicaid and CHIP programs as well state and local health care clinics. The uninsured pay anywhere between zero and one hundred percent of their own healthcare costs.Charity, both private and government, pays for anything they don't.
